RETAIL UPDATE:
Various types of retail projects are finding success in the Midwest.
In time for the ICSC convention in Las Vegas, Heartland Real Estate
Business has compiled a series of articles featuring various
projects, companies and trends that are impacting the retail
landscape in the Midwest. Some of the projects covered include
Vision Land Development Companys
Cincinnati Millworks and Jeffersonville Town Center in Jeffersonville,
Indiana; and PabstCity, which
is being redeveloped as an entertainment destination in downtown
Milwaukee.
For downtown redevelopment of a different type, check out
the article on Normal, Illinois,
that explains why the city is primed to bring retail back
to downtown. There also is an interview with Keith
Lord of The Lord Companies that examines the success of
lifestyle centers in Chicago.
Company profiles include Sansone
Group, which is currently redeveloping centers in Missouri,
and Pine Tree Commercial Realty,
a company that has carved a niche by developing small retail
centers in third tier markets.
For more company news, an article on Phillips
Edison describes how the company has added 27 grocery-anchored
shopping centers to its portfolio. Another article spotlights
Todd Interests transformation
of Ward Parkway Center, a shopping destination in Kansas City,
Missouri, that is regaining its former glory.
